A unique and delicious chai that is certainly worthy of its name. This chai is different than many spiced chai teas because it does not have cardamom or ginger, and instead has nutmeg, which creates a distinctively different flavor. The rooibos aren’t really significant in the flavor – I can’t really detect much of the woodsy flavor it imparts, but I can’t say that this tea would be the same without it.

On this cold gray morning, I’m sipping away at the Chocolate Chai. While some teas are delicately spiced, I’ve noticed that across the board, Adagio tends to have very bold Chais, with lots of ginger and cardamom. It does smell like rich chocolate, but tastewise, the chocolate is quite light, almost elusive, dancing in and out behind the rich spices.
