Lavender Oolong from Naivetea

Lavender Oolong from NaiveteaHands down, this is my favorite Oolong tea.  Normally, I’m not even much of a fan of Oolong teas; however the Oolong teas from Naivetea have changed my mind about Oolong teas.  This is by far my favorite, as I love lavender anyway, but their other scented/flavored Oolong teas are absolutely incredible as well.

With this Oolong, as well as with their others, the base Oolong tea is such high quality Oolong, as is evident from the look, smell and flavor of both the wet and dry leaves.

The lavender, while pronounced, is not so strong as to make the tea bitter, even when steeped for too long of a time.  In fact, the balance of lavender in this tea is what makes this tea so beautifully special – it smells and tastes of the lightest, most elegant French lavender buds.

The Oolong leaves are rolled into medium sized pellets, and while there are actual lavender flowers blended in with the pellets, they don’t overwhelm the tea leaves’ own unique fragrance.

Naivetea describes this tea as:

High altitude oolong infused with lavender. Intense lavender aroma. Light and smooth body with calming lavender flavor. Fragrant finish with long sweet after taste.

Each fragrance is carefully matched with a oolong from a different tea farm to achieve best pairing. Our infusion process follows the traditional method that requires natural ingredients to be layered with tea leaves to truly blend in the aroma and flavor. The result is a harmonious union between natural fragrance and elegant oolong.

This is indeed a very calming tea, perfect with or without sweetener.  Milk does not usually lend itself to Oolong tea, simply because it overwhelms the more subtle flavors of the more lightly oxidized Oolongs such as this one.  If you love lavender, you have to taste this tea!
