Tuscany Pear Rooibos from Culinary Teas

Tuscany Pear Rooibos from Culinary TeasI don’t normally like Rooibos blends; however, I do enjoy pears, and there is a huge lack of decent pear flavored tea blends on the market, perhaps because pear is such a delicate flavor.

This tea has huge chunks of dried pears among the red rooibos needles.  While you can definitely taste the smooth nectar of the red rooibos, I love the way the pear flavors mix with the natural sweetness of the rooibos.  The pear flavor is very authentic, and lends a very “juicy” flavor to the overall taste of the tea.

Culinary Teas describes this tea as:

Rooibos is also known as Red Bush or Red Tea. Our Pear Rooibos is a seductive combination of rich ripe juicy pears and sweet mild rooibos. A relaxing and cozy herbal tea served hot and refreshing and delightful iced.

The aroma of the tea is primarily of the rooibos, although I think the pear makes it smell even sweeter than it normally does.  This one works well with or without sugar, but milk would overwhelm it and make it unsavory.  The flavor is so light and mild, this would even make a spectacular children’s tea.

Because of the ingredients it would be extremely hard to overbrew this tea, so there is never any bitterness, even if you brew it too long.  Everything about this tea is refreshing and juicy, a great summer refresher!
