Passion Herbal Infusion from Tazo Tea

PassionIt is always nice to find a caffeine free tea that is flavorful. Passion is a great name for a tea that is tropical and fruity. A little sweet, a little tart and a  lot of red color. You can add just a hint of sweetener if you find it to be a tad too tart for your liking.

Tazo describes this tea as:

A tantalizing deep red tea made from hibiscus flowers, exotic herbs and natural tropical flavors. True Passion is intoxicating and invigorating, soothing and sensuous, mysterious and magical. We just thought you should know what you’re in for.

Ingredients: Hibiscus flowers, natural tropical flavors, citric acid, orange peel, licorice root, cinnamon bark, rose hips, lemongrass and red poppy.

A touch of poetry on my tea package is a big plus. Tazo is not only good with words, they are also good with putting a great group of ingredients together. This is not a light tasting tea – the flavor is very dominant.  If this was brewed to be a iced tea it would be more like a fruit juice. Pairs well with desserts, cheese, fruits, fish and other lighter fare.

Tazo is an interesting looking company that makes premium teas. They are based in Portland, and have the motto, “The Reincarnation of Tea”. Tazo is owned by Starbucks. Their web site is fun and interactive, with a Zen-type focus, worth checking out.
