Berry Delight from Talbott Teas

Berry DelightOne of the great things about rooibos tea is that it is naturally caffeine free, so I can drink it late into the evening without the concern that I might have too much caffeine just before bedtime.  Some studies have also suggested that rooibos helps with insomnia, in addition to being loaded with antioxidants.

In other words, it’s not only a tasty, caffeine-free alternative to Camellia Sinensis; it’s also a very healthy choice.  With this in mind, I have found myself drinking more rooibos as it gets later in the evening.

The scent of this rooibos blend from Talbott Teas is very delicate, which foreshadows the flavor.  The berry flavor is lightly sweet, with hints of tartness that nicely offset the natural sweetness of the rooibos.

What is especially nice about this particular blend is that there is a nice balance of flavors.  There is no overwhelming flavor profile here; it is a soft harmony of berries.  The apple, while it is not strongly pronounced, seems to provide a fair amount of smoothness to the flavor, and brings a touch of additional sweetness to the blend.

Talbott Teas describes this tea as

Lying barefoot in the berry patch, surrounded by plump blueberries, sweet strawberries and fragrant black currant leaves, you find yourself in a perfect moment. This naturally caffeine-free rooibos tea invokes childish wonder with every sip.

All natural premium ingredients: rooibos, blueberries, apple, rosehips, hibiscus, cornflower petals, black currant leaf, natural raspberry, cherry and blueberry flavors.

While I did enjoy this tea hot (as it is now getting cooler, and I find myself preferring to drink my tea hot), I do think it would also be very delicious served chilled – a fantastic and refreshing choice for summertime!
