Passionfruit Oolong from Naivetea

Passionfruit Oolong from NaiveteaPassionfruit is one of those exotic fruits that I don’t indulge in very often… not one that I think to look for when I am grocery shopping, nor is it one that I would know what to do with if I did find one while shopping.  I do occasionally treat myself to passionfruit nectar in the juice aisle, or perhaps even passionfruit infused chocolate now and again.  But it’s not a fruit that is a common staple in my home.

However, after trying this tea, I may have to make a change, and start adding passionfruit to my shopping list!  Or perhaps, at the very least, make this tea a regular staple in my tea cabinet.

This tea is one of the strongest scented teas I’ve ever come across!  It’s extraordinarily fragrant – sending you into a dream-like state, as though you’ve just been transported to a tropical paradise!  You’ll want to brew a cup immediately upon smelling these beautiful, deep green, rolled Oolong tea leaves.

The flavor is equally as intense as the aroma with the pleasantly mild flavor of the Oolong tea, which pairs very well with the essence of the sweet passionfruit.  While the tea is very strongly flavored with the passionfruit, the flavor does not overwhelm the delightful Oolong flavor which has a very soft, buttery flavor and mouth-feel that lingers pleasantly.

Naivetea describes this tea as

High altitude oolong infused with passionfruit. Intense passionfruit aroma. Light and smooth body with strong passionfruit flavor. Fragrant finish with long sweet after taste.

This would be a perfect afternoon tea, especially during a stressful afternoon when you are in need of a pick-me-up to energize your spirit and give you an overall sense of being revitalized.  The aroma is such that it gives you that moment of fantastical peace – like a vacation in a teacup!
