I believe I may have mentioned before that almonds are rather popular around our abode – “almonds go with everything” is one of the family adages. When I first brewed up a cup of this tea, the aroma pulled my spouse in, nose first, asking me what I was making.
He noticed the apple scent right away, too – which is surprising; generally, his sense of smell is a bit below average, even for a guy. The simplicity of the ingredients of this tea make it easy, though – apples, almonds, cinnamon. One can smell them all in the aroma of the dried mix, and the scent becomes stronger the longer one brews the stuff. Roasted, caramelized nuts turn out to be a wonderful thing to drink on a cold evening!
ESP Emporium says about this tea:
An acid-free base is embossed by the high portion of sweet apple pieces and its red color nuance comes from the added beetroot. The flavor note is determined by tempting, sweet, roasted, caramelized almonds. It is a taste experience which your nose and palate knows and loves from spring and summer fun fairs, the October Fest and Christmas markets. Our tip: simply try it and.., enjoy! For a perfect taste impact brew the tea for 10 minutes.
Ingredients: apple pieces, planed and crushed almonds, cinnamon pieces, beetroot pieces, flavoring. Serving Size: 1-2 level tsp./6oz serving, Brew Temp: 203 to 212 degree F, Brew Time: 10 to 12 Minutes
They aren’t kidding, either, when they say 10-12 minutes; the longer you brew it, the better it tastes. I just leave my filled Tea Sac in my large mug as I’m drinking, so that by the bottom of the cup, I have a brew so rich one might think someone had managed to turn almond butter into a pourable drink.
This offers a lot of the satisfaction of drinking hot apple cider, but the nuts give it a darker flavor – and, of course, there’s no calories. If you add a pinch of sugar, the apple flavor gets a bit stronger. And if you drop in a couple of cloves and a piece of candied ginger, you have something that may even be better than mulled cider!

"Dear Tea Guru, Hi, my name is Travis and I do some of the promotions for Tipu’s Chai. To answer your question, yes, we do use the same spices in our instant chai tea as we do in our slow brewed chai. The reason for this is the very same one that you mentioned. When you discover the perfect chai flavor, why change it? Thanks for your..."

"Hector: I agree, you do NOT need to strain their instant chai, however this is a review of their SLOW BREW chai, which does require straining as the spices are not as refined in the slow brew mix

"Tea Guru, Straining Tipu’s isn’t necessarily necessary. I leave the instant mix in and just don’t drink the settled stuff on the bottom (or sometimes I do depending on the “kick” I’m seeking). Either way, it’s a great cup of chai!"

"Dear Tea Guru, I very much appreciate your comments and am very happy you like our slow brew chai mix. I just wanted to make sure that its clear that the Assam tea is organic, but the spices are not certified organic. They are fresh and non radiated however. I hope that you continue to enjoy a good cuppa chai! regards, Bipin Patel,..."
