One thing I always enjoy about the holiday season is the delicious winter teas that come with it. This holiday tea, Sugar Plum, just wouldn’t taste right in the summer, while it makes a perfect hot tea for a cold winter day.
This tea has a very strong and delicious plum flavor to the mild black tea base. I really love plums and especially plum candy which is quite popular in Asia but not readily available here in the United States. So this tea is certainly a treat for me!
The rock sugar in the blend lends a slight sweetness to the blend, however I love sweet plum flavors so I added a bit of Turbinado sugar to my tea as well. This is not a tea that goes well with milk of any kind.
Tea For All Reasons describes this tea as:
You’ll be pleasantly surprised by the flavoring of this China black tea that is blended with deep, rich and delectable purple plum slices and flavoring, combined with small bits of rock sugar for a touch of sweetness and sparkle. You’ll see “visions of sugar plums dancing in your head!”
The real plum slices are truly enticing, lending an authentic plum-like flavor to this tea. The fragrance is also a strong plum scent, along with the fragrance of black tea. The plum may be strong, but it never overwhelms the lovely black tea base either. One of my favorite holiday blends from Tea For All Reasons!
