This is a very delicious, richly indulgent tea. Sweet and creamy, this gem of a tea from Yogi Tea is a blend of creamy vanilla overtones against a chai-like spicy background with notes of cocoa and hazelnut. As you can imagine, this tastes quite fabulous, whether you served it hot or chilled. Goes perfectly with milk and sweetener!
Rarely do I sing the praises of a bagged tea as I am doing in this review. Yogi Tea is one of the very few companies that make what I consider to be very high quality bagged teas which have a wonderful flavor. Usually I prefer loose tea, but this is one of those exceptions that I gladly make. The fact that this tea is bagged (and individually packaged!) just means it’s more convenient to brew and take with you on the go!
Yogi Tea describes this tea as:
Close your eyes and inhale a smooth tropical breeze that carries the rich scent of natural vanilla. That’s the sensation captured in our Tahitian Vanilla Hazelnut. Our distinctive tea combines the fragrance of natural vanilla with the taste of roasted hazelnut. We add depth and delight with a touch of velvety carob. The traditional Ayurvedic spice blend of cinnamon, cardamom, ginger and clove add naturally warming and cleansing properties.* So sit back, relax and discover an island retreat in a cup of this enchanting tea.
This tea is very similar to a chai tea, and if you like mild to medium bodied chai teas, you will probably enjoy this tea as well. I love the heavy vanilla and hazelnut notes, and the carob makes it taste chocolate-y as well! A fantastic dessert tea, although it’s a pleasure to wake up to in the morning as well. This is one tea I can’t stay away from!

I am very interested to try this tea, considering that I really do enjoy drinking vanilla flavored tea. I created Vanilla Temptation as reviewed on the Tea Review Blog, http://www.teareviewblog.com/?p=7333, and I am really curious as to how the “professionals” assemble vanilla flavored tea. I guess I’ve got to buy some to find out!
