Ginger Peach White from Cha Cha Tea

Ginger Peach WhiteThere is something that is so harmonious about the combination of sweet, juicy peaches and warm, spicy ginger, as if the two flavors were made for one another.  The sweetness of the peaches softens the edge of the ginger, while the heat from the ginger highlights the depth of flavor from the peach.

And this white tea from Cha Cha Tea is an excellent example of this harmonious pairing.  The light-bodied, fresh flavor of white tea allows the flavors of the peach and ginger to share the spotlight without overpowering those flavors.  Similarly, the white tea is not merely a stage provided for these flavors to perform upon; it is a prominent flavor here.

These flavors together create a surprisingly strong cup of tea – for a white tea, that is.  Generally, white tea tends to be rather delicate and soft tasting; however, here, the flavor is much more pronounced.  Together with the peach flavor – sun-ripened and rich with flavor; and the ginger – which is not strong or overtly spicy, providing just enough peppery kick, this is a well-rounded cup.

Cha Cha Tea describes this tea as

Transport yourself to a fragrant orchard in mid-summer with this sweet blend of mouth-watering peach, ginger and rare white tea.

Because the flavors here are well-defined, this tea is quite good served either hot or iced, with just a small amount of sweetener to bring out some of its finer qualities.  Because of its lighter characteristic and low caffeine levels, it makes an excellent evening tea.
