Pumpkin Cranberry Scones by Sticky Fingers Bakeries

Name of Tea Accessory:
Pumpkin Cranberry Sconesscones

Available From:
Sticky Fingers Bakeries & Whole Foods

Does anything scream the fall season quite like pumpkins and cranberries?  I have always been fond of pumpkin breads, muffins and cookies, so I was eager to try pumpkin scones — and these had an added bonus of dried cranberries in the mix!

As I’ve mentioned before on this blog, the Sticky Fingers Bakeries have made these mixes exceptionally easy to prepare.  Just add water, stir, and bake.  The hardest part about making these scones is waiting for them to come out of the oven – especially since they smelled so delicious as they were baking.

Because of the pumpkin, these scones are a bit sweeter than other scones I’ve tried from Sticky Fingers.  The texture is a bit more like a cake than a scone, because they are a lot moister and less crumbly than a typical scone.

The cranberries add a pleasing texture to these scones, much like the texture raisins would add to an oatmeal cookie.  And their flavor is slightly tart; a pleasant contrast to the sweet pumpkin.

Sticky Fingers Bakeries describes these scones as

Any easier and they would make themselves.

Sticky Fingers makes enjoying the authentic taste of luscious, home-baked goods as simple as possible – short of dropping by and baking them for you!

NO PRESERVATIVES – NO ARTIFICIAL FLAVORS – NO TRANS-FATS – NO CHOLESTEROL – NO EGGS

These tasty treats are a perfect accompaniment to an afternoon cup of tea.  Because they are sweet and flavorful on their own, I recommend a simple, unflavored black tea.  And while the scones are delightfully good on their own, they’re even better with a dollop of clotted cream!  What a lovely treat for this fall afternoon.
