My first impression of this tea after taking a sip was that it was very smooth. Much smoother than I anticipated!
The green tea flavor is fresh tasting and slightly vegetative, but not overly grassy. This may be due to the strong berry flavor which is sweet, or it could be from the hibiscus in the blend, which lends a slight tartness to the cup, and lingers in the aftertaste.
Frontier Co-Op describes this tea as:
Vegetal green tea flavor, with nuances of fresh, sweet strawberry. Pretty pink infusion.
Ingredients: Organic green tea, organic strawberries, organic hibiscus, natural strawberry flavor.
Caffeine: Contains Caffeine
Organic: QAI Certified Organic
This makes a very refreshing and delicious iced tea, as well as a very pleasant hot cup of tea. I added a drizzle of agave nectar to my cup, which helped to curb the tangy edge a bit, and gave it (in my opinion) a perfect balance of sweet and tart. The sweet flavor makes it very kid-friendly – even my youngest daughter loved it!

"Well, as someone who has tasted a lot of chai tea, I can attest that this really is not very similar in taste to Chai. Chai tends to focus on the spices, whereas this tea’s focus is on the orange, with the spices being very gentle and more of an accent to the orange."

"Steph: Thank you for your information about the naranquilla. I didn’t find the flavor to be very tart at all – which is what I would have expected from the combination of lime and rhubarb. Perhaps the maraschino sweetened it up a bit and made it much more peach-like. It reminded me a bit of candied apricots or peaches."
