It isn’t often that you’ll read a review of a canned ice tea on this blog – at least from me. I don’t drink them often, they tend to be far too sweet for my liking. But every once in a while, one will catch my eye and I’ll give it a try.
This is one such tea. The very colorful cans caught my eye instantly, and I liked the name. What can I say, I’m a hippie at heart.
This is a Ceylon tea, and as such, it’s not particularly robust. It has a smooth, mellow flavor. And yes, it IS sweet. So if you’re one to shy away from overly sweet drinks, this may not be for you. But as far as pre-sweetened, canned ice teas go, this one isn’t too bad. I can taste the tea – unlike many of the other canned and/or bottled iced teas out there.
The website for Peace Tea isn’t too descriptive about their tea, so I will take some information directly off the can:
Ingredients: Brewed Natural Ceylon Tea (Pure filtered water, Ceylon Tea), Sugar, Citric Acid, Natural Flavors, Sucralose.
100% Natural Tea
No Artificial Flavors
No Preservatives
No Artificial Colors
Don’t get me wrong, this is not something I’d recommend drinking on a regular basis – it’s not something I’d drink on a regular basis – but, for an occasional thirst-quencher, this one fills the bill. This is a pretty good tea, and I’d probably buy it again if I’m out and about and looking for some refreshment. At the current time, Peace Tea offers four different flavors: Sweet Lemon Tea, Green Tea, Razzleberry Tea, and Imported Ceylon Tea, and you can probably find them in your local grocery store – that’s where I found mine (Winco, if you happen to live in Washington, Idaho, Nevada, California or Oregon).

I just HAVE to pipe in on this one… LOL Note to Peace Tea: If you ARE NOT LIVING IN SRI LANKA, then of course it’s IMPORTED Ceylon Tea. The only time it isn’t imported…is if you are IN CEYLON lol (gets off soapbox)
