What a beautiful and romantic tea! The white tea leaves are big, slightly browned with silvery tips. The rosebuds are whole and large. And it smells as lovely as it looks – a fantastic rose bouquet that I would prefer over a bouquet of long stems any day!
The overall flavor of this tea is not quite as floral as you might imagine. The sweet rose essence is there, but, it is the white tea (organic Oothu) that really shines, offering a very pleasing harmony of silky flavor that I absolutely adore!
The white tea is soft, fresh-tasting with a very light vegetative flavor. The rose presents a very pleasant feminine flavor, with an agreeable bittersweet finish. It is a very delicate, enticing brew, perfect for a romantic afternoon with someone special – or even with a favorite romance novel and a bubble bath!
Zhi Tea describes this blend as
We take our Organic Oothu White tea and fold in just the right amount of organic rose buds for a really smooth and mild any time of day tea.
No flavorings at all with this one so the white tea base is very pronounced.
The Oothu Estate is located in the Singampatti rainforest and is one of the first organic and Fair Trade tea estates in the world.
Light, refreshing, simple.
This tea should be served hot, with no sweetener (or very little, if you wish to enhance some of the sweet rose notes a bit). The flavor 0f this tea is mellow and beautiful, and one that can become lost as it cools.
As it is only a few days away, I don’t think that this review will be published before Valentines Day. But must we restrict ourselves to a little romance only on Valentines Day? Keep this tea on hand and you can indulge in a little romance any time!

"I am a tea drinker and this cocoa shell tea has been a bit of a revelation for me. I was looking for an alternative, change of pace source of caffeine for my weekends and this fits the bill. One tablespoon brewed for 10 minutes provides a subtle chocolate taste with about the same level of caffeine as green tea, which is perfect for me. I am trying to..."
