Matcha Green Tea Marshmallows

When I saw found Matcha Green Tea Marshmallows on Etsy, I knew I had to try them! I mean, Matcha? Homemade marshmallows? YUM!
First of all, I’ve got to tell you, if you’ve never tasted homemade/handmade marshmallows before, you really should. But be warned, once you’ve tried them, you may never be able to return to the store bought marshmallows again. Yes… they are truly that good. The comparison between homemade versus store bought… well… there really is no comparison. Homemade marshmallows have substance and flavor. They are soft and even a little gooey. They – in no way, shape, or form – taste like slightly stale, somewhat stiff, flavorless fluffs of air and corn syrup like the stuff you’d find on your grocery store shelf.
Now… take that heavenly flavor of a homemade marshmallow and infuse them with the sweet, creamy, fresh taste of Matcha and you’d have what sits before me (and is quickly disappearing) now. The Matcha is slightly bitter, which is good, otherwise this confection would be far too sweet. But with a slight bitterness to the matcha offers a nice contrast to the sweetness – delicious!
Fusion Sweets describes these delectable treats as:
The delicious creamy taste of matcha green tea blends so well with the delicate and light melt in your mouth texture of our homemade marshmallows. We don’t use any artificial colors to get that gorgeous green color, just 100% pure Japanese green tea powder.
These marshmallows will turn hot chocolate into an amazingly sinful chocolate and matcha latte! I made hot cocoa, put one of these in the mug, and then microwaved it for just 15 seconds to melt the marshmallow a little faster (the hot chocolate will melt the marshmallow, but, it takes a bit longer) and I’ve got to tell you, Oh! My! Goodness! is it ever good. They are also quite satisfying to eat all by themselves. These delightful marshmallows are definitely tasty!
