Name of Tea Accessory:
Large Poly & Glass Tea Travel Mug
Available From:
Libre Tea at:
www.libretea.com
Once again the folks over at Libre Tea have brought us another wonderful travel tea mug, this time – it’s bigger and better! Libre Tea (prounounced Lib-ruh Tea) means “free” in French, a deliberate play on words from the creators, as their tea glasses leave you free to enjoy your tea absolutely anywhere!
This travel mug is absolutely HUGE!! I mean GIGANTIC! Even I, being a long-time tea drinker was amazed at the size of this cup. It is 14.3 fl oz. (approx. 420 ml), and carries a whole lot of tea. This is a tea glass for the serious tea drinker.
This tea cup works like their original Libre Tea Glass, and much like other tea travel mugs. There is the cup itself, which as I previous mentioned is huge, with glass on the inside so you get the pure taste of tea with no chemicals, and BPA-free poly carbonate on the outside, both to insulate your tea so it doesn’t get cold and so that if you drop it, it’s very unlikely to break. The leak-resistant thermal container keeps your tea hot, yet keeps the container cool to the touch, so you won’t burn your hands, even if you use boiling water!
On top of the cup is a removable twist-on BPA-free filter. It’s a mesh filter made from metal, in a fine enough mesh that you can use this tea mug to brew fine red rooibos without getting any in your mouth, yet it’s not so fine that you have a hard time drinking the tea through it. The metal is surrounded by a soft plastic rim to drink your tea. The mesh filters your loose tea and water and you get to drink your hot tea on the go with no need for a tea ball or teabag.
The mug comes with the most beautiful twist-on BPA-free lid with a beautiful holographic golden logo of a tea leaf which looks almost like the Eye of Horus. It’s simply beautiful and matches the mug so well.
Libre Tea describes their new large poly & glass cup on their website:

Personally I love this tea glass…it’s become my favorite glass to drink from, and I would highly recommend it for brewing loose leaf tea, taking your tea on the go, or just as a really great tea glass to drink from. This would also make a fantastic present for the upcoming holiday season and the tea lovers in your life.
I think they did an exceptional job of improving on their original poly & glass teacup. After all, we tea lovers, we LOVE us some more tea in our cups, and Libre Tea does a fantastic job of bringing us the largest tea travel mug of this quality on the market.
Now, I know $32 seems a little “steep” for a teacup (yes, that pun was intended), but honestly if you see the quality of the crafting, the great insulation it provides, and most importantly, the convenience it provides, this tea cup is well worth the money you pay for it. You can’t really see the exceptional quality on their website as much as you can in person, but it’s there. This tea cup is so resilient and well-made that it is a tea cup you will be using for many years to come.
You can also follow Libre Tea on Facebook and Twitter.
Here is a quick video using their original Libre Tea Glass that shows how simple and easy it is to use to brew a great cup of tea (Please note that the Libre Tea Glass in the video is NOT the same glass as is being reviewed in this review. This is their regular/original tea glass. This simply shows how to make tea using any of the Libre Tea Travel Mugs):

"I am a tea drinker and this cocoa shell tea has been a bit of a revelation for me. I was looking for an alternative, change of pace source of caffeine for my weekends and this fits the bill. One tablespoon brewed for 10 minutes provides a subtle chocolate taste with about the same level of caffeine as green tea, which is perfect for me. I am trying to..."
