As I said on Steepster, if all Pu-erh teas tasted like this one, I would not be hesitant at all to try them. This is really good. Decadent, rich and delicious.
When I first opened the little sample that a friend sent to me, I was amazed that it was Pu-erh. I had to double check it! It did not smell like Pu-erh – which typically has a very earthy scent that sometimes smells like dirt! This did not have that earthy aroma at all! Once brewed, I noticed that the liquor did possess a subtle earthy note that lingered with the fragrances of chocolate and coconut. Even with those subtle notes, it still doesn’t smell anything like the Pu-erh teas that I’ve encountered in the past.
The flavor is really nice. The coconut dominates – and it tastes rich and creamy! Sweet! Yummy! The chocolate is much more like a cocoa powder – a fine quality cocoa powder that is dark and somewhat savory. It is a pleasant contrast to the sweet, creamy coconut.
Art of Tea describes this flavored Pu-erh as
Pure Bliss! This unique blend of organic loose leaf Pu-erh with cocoa nibs and coconut provides a smooth, round, robust, yet sweet flavor with a mild hazelnut finish. Steep multiple times to experience a different flavor profile with each brew.
This Pu-erh is incredibly smooth. The overall cup is somewhat earthy with nutty tones that resemble the flavor of hazelnut, savory chocolate notes and a rich coconut taste. Delicious and comforting, this is a Pu-erh that everyone can enjoy!

I never craved for tea in my life. Now, thanks to your review, I am. I didn’t like Pu-erh teas either, but this one sounds delicious.

I am really not so much of a fan of mixing pu erh with other flavors – I’m more of a purist. But a nutty flavor with creamy coconut slurpiness? Um… well, I admit this gets my mouth watering, and I will order a pack to sample it. Will let you know how I like it
