Bossa Nova from TeaGschwendner

Bossa Nova from TeaGschwendnerI received this tea as a gift recently, and I was quite happy to receive it.  I have tried several of TeaGschwendner’s teas and have been rather impressed with just about everything that I’ve tasted.  And this just may be my favorite thus far!

The aroma of the dry leaf is quite delicious.  The sweet scent of the hazelnut with warm vanilla overtures and just a hint of sweet caramel.  YUM!

The brewed liquor takes on a more subdued fragrance that is very similar to what I experienced with the dry leaf, but there is something more – almost earthy and even a little bit like … coffee.  A little unusual but since I like the smell of coffee, I don’t mind it at all.

The flavor is wonderful.  It has such a lovely creaminess to it from both the hazelnuts and the vanilla.  It is nutty, a little earthy, and even a little smoky.  But mostly, it is sweet and absolutely delicious.  It tastes very indulgent.

TeaGschwendner describes this Oolong as

Creamy hazelnut and vanilla give warm rhythm to this customer favorite.

Ingredients: Oolong tea from China, hazelnut brittle, mullein blossoms and flavor.

I think I prefer this tea hot.  It tastes delicious when it is chilled, too, but, there is just something about the autumnal feel of this tea that makes it much more enjoyable when it is hot.  It is good served straight with no additions, but I found a dollop of honey enhances the overall flavor of the cup so I highly recommend it!
