This is a very interesting tea to me because I cannot describe the most prominent flavor. It is a mixture of many delicious fruits and florals (white tea, candied mango pieces, candied pineapple, rosehip peels, apple bits, hibiscus flowers, red currants, rose petals, acai fruit powder). I will admit that this is one of my favorite fruity teas, however, having a favorite tea is like having a favorite child, so I try not to have “favorites”.
It is one that I will open the tin just to sniff even when I don’t plan to steep it. The tea has lots of pretty white tea leaves and a generous amount of large fruit pieces and flowers.
I brewed the teafor 2 minutes at 175°F using 1.5 tsp of tea to 8 oz of water. This tea is very sensitive to temperature so if you find the tea bitter, that could be why. I added 1 tsp of German Rock Sugar to each 8 oz of water to sweeten it up. The tea is a slight pink color.
Teavana describes this tea as:
Youthful and fresh, this clean and crisp, pale pink, blushing tea is made from candied pineapple and mango pieces with Fuji and Golden Delicious apples added for spirit. ‘Superfruits’ red currant and acai berry create a youthful glow in this medley of smart, bright, refreshingly soft white tea. SUPERFRUIT ENHANCED. Refreshing sweet pineapple and fruity acai berry infusion with subtle floral finish.
I find the white tea such an undertone that it is more like an herbal to me. As I sit here and struggle for the words to describe the perfection that is this tea, I have opened the tea and sniffed it 4 times! I can smell the pineapple and some mango. The flavor of the tea is just a mix of the ingredients, it is so flavorful that it is almost like a juice.
A highly recommended white tea if you are looking for something fun and different.
