I absolutely love a nice Jasmine tea! The smell of the this tea is so delightful! Kaleisia is a tea house here in Tampa so I really enjoy shopping locally when possible. The leaves are a deep, dark green, they almost resemble a black tea.
I steeped the tea for 4 minutes at 180°F. I used 1 tsp of tea and 1 tsp of German Rock Sugar for each 8 oz of water. The tea is a soft, green color and the flavor is very smooth.
Kaleisia describes this tea as:
A popular Chinese green tea in which jasmine blossoms are scented with the tea leaves according to traditional technique. After the scenting process, the blossoms are removed by hand, leaving only the jasmine infused tea leaves. The tea’s brew imparts a sweet and soothing fragrance.
I make an audible “mmmm” with each sip! I generally like full flavored fruity teas, so this is the closest to a pure tea that I drink. The green is so mild and gentle, I do not taste the grassy undertones that I find in some greens. The Jasmine flavor is the prominent flavor in the tea.
