Ice Tube Maker

Name of Tea Accessory:
Ice Tube Maker

Available From:
Miles Kimball

This set of two Ice Tube Makers comes in so handy during the summer! These ice tubes are just the right size to fit through the necks of standard bottles – for bottled tea, or for your homemade tea that you’re putting in your re-usable water bottle.

Miles Kimball says about these:

Keep water and soft drink bottles cold with “tubes” that fit where cubes won’t! These long, narrow 3″ long x 3/4″ diameter ice tubes slip through slim necks to keep beverages chilled for on-the-go enjoyment. Each sturdy polypropylene tray makes 10 tubes. Dishwasher safe. 9 1/2″ long x 3 1/2″ wide x 1″ high.

What you can also do with these is: freeze tea into ice tubes! Why would you want to do this? One reason would be so that when you put ice into your bottled tea, you don’t dilute the flavor. But another reason would be: instant iced tea out of your bottled water! You’ve seen stores sell little packets of powder to flavor bottled water – including some highly sweetened powdered iced tea flavors, which may be far too sweet for many tastes, as well as being perhaps not the quality of tea you’re looking for. But if you brew up your own tea, choosing one that doesn’t get bitter if you steep it for longer, then you can freeze that strong tea into tubes, and just drop one into the next bottle of water you grab! Voila! Your water gets chilled and turned into tea at the same time, with the flavor and amount of sweetener you choose, instead of what some corporation chooses (the first ingredient in those powders isn’t even tea! )

The tea lover, or any lover of kitchen gadgets, will find much else to amuse them at Miles Kimball, from tea tongs to personalized sweetener-packet carrying cases to tea bag rests. All reasonably priced, and with reasonable shipping charges.
