I find myself enchanted by teas of the winter season, so when I received this sample of Christmas Tea from Twinings of London from a friend, I brewed some right away.
This is a tea that inspires great comfort and joy! The cinnamon and cloves are very warming, but their pleasant flavor is not so overwhelming that it becomes too spicy hot. It’s just right — it’s a comfortable sensation on the palate that brings a smile to my face.
The tea used in this blend is a decent base for the tea: medium-bodied, mellow with very little astringency. Not a particularly brisk black tea, instead, it is very smooth so as not to overpower the essence of the spices.
