Matcha Mint ChocoLatté from Kalahari Tea
The Tea Guru
This tea really does taste like a chocolate mint candy, smooth and sweet. And not only is it incredibly exquisite, but it is also great for the environment, produced by an earth-conscious company.

The cranberry is delicious – fruity and juicy tasting and ABUNDANT! It really tastes strongly of cranberry, however, that being said, it in no way interferes with the flavor of the matcha. They are balanced very well.

This really is the BEST Matcha that I’ve ever tried. The beautiful deep green liquid glides over the palate: it is sweet with a pleasant consistency and with just the right amount of vegetative flavor.

The tea brews to a beautiful, deep jade green color – primarily because of the matcha in the blend. And of course, the roasted “popcorn” aroma of the Genmaicha is so inviting! I am so delighted! This is a remarkable Genmaicha.

I love the texture of the tea in its dry state. Reminiscent of a trail mix for the tea lover with crunchy tidbits of glorious rice, dusted with matcha powder, I could just eat it up – and have actually done so.

The mandarin orange flavor is a nice pairing with the vegetative qualities of the Matcha. The orange flavor is not strong and does not overwhelm the cup. I would say it’s more of an accent flavor to the sweet Matcha. There is also an agreeable bitterness to the Matcha.

This is a really stout, strong matcha. It has an almost bittersweet flavor which brews up to make a good solid matcha, whether hot or iced. I found that this matcha is a bit strong for a classic hot matcha. However when brewed up as a latté this matcha is absolutely perfect.

This matcha has a faint grassy and vegetal aroma. The 1st thing I notice when I taste it is not the taste of the matcha, but the texture of the froth on top.

- Type Of leaves: Yerba Maté & Green Tea
- Name Of Tea: Matcha Maté
- Available From: Rua Tea
The Tea Guru
Rua Tea uses their delicious green yerba maté leaves as a basis for this tea, which is then covered in their stunning sweet matcha green tea powder. This is a winning combination as the sweet matcha causes this tea to brew up bright shamrock green and infuses it with a strong sweet character with bright grassy green tea notes. The yerba maté is sweet also and has a grassy, mellow flavor.

Matcha Miyabi has a grassy aroma to it which can be a little off-putting to those who are new to the tea. Don’t let it deter you, though, because while it may smell grassy, the vegetal flavor is much lighter than you’d expect it to be, and it is much more like a sweet, leafy flavor than a bitter, grassy one.

Read This Review...Sentcha Japanese Green Tea from ITO EN
The Tea Guru
ITO EN has made two understatements in this tea – this tea is very VERY green, and very VERY Japanese. Bringing together the essence of arguably the two most popular teas from Japan – matcha and sencha, it gives this tea the sweet, deeply vegetal flavor of matcha along with the grassier, more mellow flavor of the sencha. The result is a mild but sweetly green brew that is above and beyond most bagged green tea blends.
