A unique and delicious chai that is certainly worthy of its name. This chai is different than many spiced chai teas because it does not have cardamom or ginger, and instead has nutmeg, which creates a distinctively different flavor. The rooibos aren’t really significant in the flavor – I can’t really detect much of the woodsy flavor it imparts, but I can’t say that this tea would be the same without it.

Sometimes I really don’t know why I like a tea/tisane…I just do. Some are out of this world and others are ok or a good old standby. As far as Rooibos is concerned this may be a good old standby for Rooibos.

Overall, the flavor is sweet – and since it’s a “dessert tea” I guess it should be sweet, right? It reminds me a bit of the creamy flavor of the inside of a peppermint patty – although the mint is a bit more subdued here than in the confection.
