The fragrance of this tea is familiarly chai and deliciously appealing: immediately I could detect spicy notes of cardamom, ginger, clove and nutmeg, along with a licorice-like aroma of star anise, and a lingering hint of chocolate.

I was a bit surprised at my first sip. There was not as much “spice” flavor as I am used to in a chai tea. And my memories of Good Earth tea is a nice strong sweetly spicy iced tea.

Good Earth Teas combines a love for the environment with a love of tea to produce a great-tasting, refreshing green tea with lemongrass and citrus.

I believe that the citrus taste of the lemongrass in this blend has been enhanced with flavoring, because it definitely tastes more lemony than lemongrass usually tastes. There is a smooth creaminess to the flavor that I quite enjoy.

The tea tasted like that too – jasmine lemon drops with a trace of bubblegum. I couldn’t decide if I liked it or not. The purist side was appalled that this was done to jasmine tea. The fun side thought this was pretty good stuff. I think I will just let it be what it is and enjoy it.

As autumn rides into full canter, the days are getting shorter and cooler, and curling up on the couch with a good book and warm blanket begin to rank high of my list of simple pleasures. Fortunately for me, I have re-discovered the delicate hug I get from warm cinnamon tea, now with the maturity to pick out the subtle hints of spices and other flavors.

"I am a tea drinker and this cocoa shell tea has been a bit of a revelation for me. I was looking for an alternative, change of pace source of caffeine for my weekends and this fits the bill. One tablespoon brewed for 10 minutes provides a subtle chocolate taste with about the same level of caffeine as green tea, which is perfect for me. I am trying to..."
