This black tea had greatly sweet undertones! It was like drinking a plain black tea with a little something extra, it was nice. Black tea generally has caffeine so I would recommend this for a mid afternoon drink.

However, it was NOT syrupy. In fact, the black tea leaves used in this tea are high quality – you can tell by the size of the leaf pieces after brewing. But you can also tell by the taste of this tea. It’s bold and smooth, with just the perfect aftertaste of tropical fruit.

Tweet The perfect black tea with just a hint of sweet mango is what this tea provides the drinker! A lovely blend of black tea leaves with bright yellow petals make this tea interesting to the eye, a color combination of dark and light. Layla describes this tea as: Our Mango tea is a blend [...]

This tea smells heavenly. It smells so incredibly fruity and lush. The taste is a little weaker than the aroma, but it still has lovely pomegranate overtones along with the sencha and it’s pleasant sharpness and fresh qualities. This is a very “crisp” tea with a light, refreshing taste.

The vegetative quality is very soft. There is a sharpness in this tea as well, I am not sure if that is due to the rose petals or the flavoring, but I find that the sharp notes offer a pleasing, palatable contrast to the soft grassy notes.

Overall this is one delicious and unique tropical black tea. As I mentioned above, it has strong mango notes along with a wonderful Orange Pekoe black tea base, which tastes crisp, strong and slightly astringent. This would also make a fabulous iced tea in the summer!

It’s a very brisk tea, with sharp tangy undertones. Usually when I taste vanilla black teas, the vanilla is subtle – not so with this tea! You get both the warm fragance and sweet taste of vanilla – exactly the way a vanilla tea should be!

The briskness of this tea would make it an excellent choice as a morning or early afternoon tea, served hot with a touch of milk or cream. If you are one who appreciates a good, strong, full flavored tea, this is the tea for you!

"I am a tea drinker and this cocoa shell tea has been a bit of a revelation for me. I was looking for an alternative, change of pace source of caffeine for my weekends and this fits the bill. One tablespoon brewed for 10 minutes provides a subtle chocolate taste with about the same level of caffeine as green tea, which is perfect for me. I am trying to..."
