In the cup the steeped brew looked like golden honey nectar, as though I had been blessed by the tea gods with a bright cup of golden sunshine! It smelled creamy, only slightly sweet, but mostly what stood out was this essence of a bright earthy this must be a cup of nature’s bounty feeling. Something about just the aroma made me feel good.

The flavor is quite similar to a green tea, but, there are some notable differences. The tea possesses a strong floral note with a vegetative background. I can also taste a light nutty flavor as well as a buttery tone to the tea.

From the moment I opened the package I knew this was going to be a very special tea. That belief was validated as soon as I poured the steeped brew from my kettle to my teapot! The aromas that rose to meet my nose were unbelievable. Vegetal, earthy, and sweet. The flavor, almost buttery, with a butter mouthfeel as well.

"I am a tea drinker and this cocoa shell tea has been a bit of a revelation for me. I was looking for an alternative, change of pace source of caffeine for my weekends and this fits the bill. One tablespoon brewed for 10 minutes provides a subtle chocolate taste with about the same level of caffeine as green tea, which is perfect for me. I am trying to..."
