The rooibos was very pronounced, and if you like rooibos then you absolutely have to try this tea because it is a symphony of rooibos grandiosity. Beneath the rooibos were the bright tropical flavors mentioned, including a very mellow mango flavor coupled with a softer vanilla.

What I especially like about this tea is its unique flavor. Chamomile tends to be a strong flavor all by itself and usually overpowers any other flavors in the tea. But with this blend, either the citrus cuts through it, or there is enough other ingredients that the actual chamomile flavor is toned down. The citrus is also nice and subtle, blending in with the other flavors. It is not sour or overpowering. The tea does have a nice lemon scent as it brews.

The fragrance of this tea is rewarding immediately upon opening the tin. Mint with hints of chocolate penetrates the air, and brings to mind Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream.

The chocolate flavor is a bit more developed in this tea than in some of Mighty Leaf’s other chocolate truffle blends, which I really like. The orange flavor is subtle and sweet, and is complimented nicely by the vanilla, providing softness to the strong, bold flavors of the tea. It’s a very tasty balance of flavors.

This tea has a rich buttery bright tropical fruit fragrance when brewed, and has a smooth, mellow flavor with no trace of bitterness, which is surprising in a bagged green tea!

Marsala Chocolate Truffle Tea is very heavily laden with cinnamon, and that’s the scent that hits you the moment you open the tin, and again while you’re brewing — reminding me a bit of a potpourri simmer pot filled with aromatic spices. It smells very warm, comforting, and delicious!

This tea is a wonderful rarity because the name Orange Dulce makes me think pure orange black tea but it’s very different because it’s floral and sweet, too

The sweet, juicy orange taste is very bergamot-ish, and the silky vanilla flavor smooths out some of the edge that is often associated with bergamot. And for a very pleasant twist on a Earl Grey Creme-ish type of blend, there is the addition of jasmine.

Come with me, while I brew this delightful cup! Brew time is four minutes, and when you’re done, you’ll see a dark cherry-chocolate colored liquor that smells of oranges and very subtly of jasmine. While this tea is wonderful without the goodies, I absolutely LOVE putting a little turbinado sugar and organic cream in with it. The flavor is very much a mixture of bergamot and orange, smoothed out with a vanilla and jasmine finish. It’s smooth and even without cream, creamy. Mighty Leaf seems to focus on the end results of the tea; I am pleased to note that the tea is not bitter like some black teas can be. Instead, it is smooth, caffeinated, and rich. Kinda like what I prefer in most of my tea relationships.

The aroma of the dry leaf has got to be smelled to be believed! It has beautiful floral notes that mingle with coconut – and even though that may sound like it smells good – it smells even BETTER than it sounds like it would smell.

I sometimes find black tea a little too sharp in the morning, or a little too strong without adding sugar to it, but not this tea. If you steep it for about 3-4 minutes, it tastes incredibly smooth and is delicious without any added sweeteners. It has a robust scent that smells like a heart English breakfast only slightly sweeter. This is probably my favorite English breakfast tea.

Mmm… the sweet scent of the bergamot orange, not quite the same as what you get from your orange juice. A cautious sip. Yes! Delicate, floating, citrus with just the slightest undertones of lavender.

Can you imagine hiking near the tropics, surrounded by wild vanilla? To me, that sounds heavenly. I can almost imagine the sweat glistening on my arms and forehead while inhaling such an enveloping, comforting scent. This tea does take me there, in a way. But in another way, I appreciate this delicious treat on a cold winter day in Colorado, wrapped up in a blanket, reading a juicy novel on the couch by my fireplace. You don’t have to go to the tropics to experience the (contrary to the saying, not boring) embrace of vanilla aroma. You can enjoy it in the comfort of your home– even in the comfort of your bathtub.

This tea is quite light, perfect for a summer morning. It brews up to a very pale yellow, almost the color of a white tea, and the flavor has a similar subtlety to white tea. I can feel relaxation drifting across me as the taste lingers with slight sweetness.
