Golden Nepal from Teany

If I were to choose just one word to describe this tea, it would be “golden,” so I think that it is definitely appropriately named. From its dark brown leaves with golden tips to the scent that enlivens the senses and the liquor that sparkles on the palate, it is an absolute delight to drink.

It has a very well-rounded flavor: the tea is fresh-tasting and just a little sweet with a pleasant amount of vegetative character; the cloves and cardamom offer a gentle warmth and the spices are complimented well with the bright note of citrus.

A perfect afternoon tea – perhaps one to share with friends (and don’t forget the cookies!) And, not only is it a beautiful looking tea – both in its dry form and as it brews, but it tastes wonderful as well. The flavor is very rich, smooth and has a mild sweetness that is very satisfying.

I’ll admit – most flowering teas or blooming teas that I have tried so far have been green, whites, or actual flower type teas. I think this may be the first black tea in this form that I have had so far. I will say I am a fan and am now on the search for more black flowering or blooming teas!

I can primarily taste the almond over everything else BUT can follow it up with the White Chocolate tastes and then hints of floral to follow.

It is a bright, pleasant green tea taste that is just slightly vegetative. But the key flavor in this blend is the chocolate!

One tablespoon brewed for 10 minutes provides a subtle chocolate taste with about the same level of caffeine as green tea, which is perfect for me. I am trying to..."
