While this tea is not quite as complex as an Oolong tea brewed in hot water, it does have some complex flavor notes – a bit earthy, a bit of a nutty taste – and it definitely has that smooth, mellow Oolong taste – a bit more toward a green Oolong than a dark Oolong, but definitely an Oolong.

My favorite is the pu-er tea from Ten Fu. Ten Fu, which is known internationally as Ten Ren, is a very high quality company. I didn’t want a huge brick of pu-er as it is not my favorite and because it can be very expensive, but I did want some. Ten Fu had the prefect package.

There’s a slight peachy aroma, not as much as some darker oolongs have, and a very faint hint of nuttiness – again, not as much as some darker oolongs.

"I am a tea drinker and this cocoa shell tea has been a bit of a revelation for me. I was looking for an alternative, change of pace source of caffeine for my weekends and this fits the bill. One tablespoon brewed for 10 minutes provides a subtle chocolate taste with about the same level of caffeine as green tea, which is perfect for me. I am trying to..."
