Blueberry Bliss Rooibos from Teavana

  • Type Of leaves: Green Rooibos
  • Name Of Tea: Blueberry Bliss Rooibos
  • Available From: Teavana

Blueberry Bliss Rooibos from TeavanaJust like a blueberry cobbler!  This tea is a sweet blend of blueberries and Rooibos.  I find this tea very similar to an herbal as it is one of the most mild Rooibos I have encountered with a strong fruity flavor.

Overall, I sometimes find Rooibos too woody or almost sweet.  With this tea, the blueberry really shines and the Rooibos is so mild it is more of an undertone.  The tea itself is a beautiful blend of a generous amount of whole blueberries and other fruits (Green rooibos tea, blueberries, raisins, black currants, rosehip peels, beetroot pieces, hibiscus flowers, blueberry flavoring).

Teavana describes this tea as:

Fond memories of the bright blaze of wildly delicious ‘superfruit’  blueberries take you back to childhood summers in the blueberry patch. The sun streams into green rooibos with sweet fruity aromas, capturing the essence of summer in berries, grapes, black currants and hibiscus flowers. Blissful blueberry perfection. SUPERFRUIT ENHANCED. Rich notes of blueberry, raisins, and black currants.

I enjoy heavily flavored teas so this is probably why I love this tea so much. This tea is great alone, but it also blends well with other fruity teas.

I brewed this tea using 1.5 tsp of tea to 8 oz of water. I steeped it in 208°F water for 6 minutes. I added 1 tsp of German Rock Sugar to each 8 oz of water. This tea is great hot or iced. A great tea that will satisfy your sweet tooth – it’s like a snack in a cup!

Chaud Les Marrons from Lupicia Tea

Chaud Les Marrons by Lupicia Tea

Oh La La! This tea is le délicieux. Okay Don’t fault me please if I butchered the French language. I butcher the English language as well so all’s fair. What a wonderful way to wake up! A rich bold black tea with the perfect level of sweetness!

This tea is also slightly malty, toasty, roasty, nutty, and has a solid cocoa flavor as well. It reminds me a bit of a good pu-erh!

The chocolate notes are strong, and the first aroma you will notice in the dry leaf state. There are some complexities in this tea and  you will notice that the different flavor notes sort of bounce around from sip to sip. Sometimes you will notice the chocolate notes more, sometimes the sweet flavor of sugared roasted chestnuts, other times it will be the malty under note.

This is what Lupicia Tea says about Chaud Les Marrons!

Black tea with a rich aroma and the sweetness of roasted chestnuts which are sold on the streets of Paris.

Well I don’t know about chestnuts sold on the streets of Paris as I have not had the pleasure of going there, but they do remind me of those roasted nuts I always get at the Renaissance Festival, and are sold at the mall, but those are not nearly as good.

Trust me you will not be adding any sweeteners here! Even if you typically “always” add sweetening agents. This tea is perfection when it comes to knowing the absolute right level of sweet.

This tea is brewed for 3 to 5 minutes (I brewed for 3 on the first steep and it was perfect) at a boiling temperature, using 1 teaspoon of the tea. Re-steeps nicely but I added an extra minute.

Lupicia Tea is quickly becoming one of my top tea vendor options! So far I have immensely enjoyed four out of five of the teas I have from this company and the fifth I did like quite a lot, but would not have put it on my top 20 list. Still that is a great record in my book! Consistency in a tea company is key for me! It feels good knowing that if you want to go for it and add a tea you have never tried before to your cart that the odds of really loving it to at least really liking it a lot are high!

As the tea cools the flavor of hot cocoa becomes more apparent, as well as the caramelized nut flavor. I am not sure how I would feel about this tea being iced though. On one hand it certainly would hold up its flavor but on the other hand due to the cocoa being a prime flavor I just don’t think I could get my mind around it being iced, then again I do like cold chocolate milk. Interesting however that cocoa is not even mentioned on the tea description! Chocolate is quite popular in Paris though from what I understand, then again where isn’t it popular?!

I can absolutely see myself in my dreams of course, sitting at a café on a street corner in Paris, sipping this exquisite tea! Of course in this dream, I am taller, thinner, blonder, and far better looking!

If you have never tried Lupicia Teas please don’t delay! Their tea descriptions are not as through as some companies, or as floral with the words used but what they say is exactly what you get! I find that to be quite positive, direct is best.

Lemon Lavender Herbal from Tea Embassy

Lemon Lavender Herbal from Tea EmbassyAn intensely flavored herbal tea!  I LOVE a full flavored herbal and this tea hits the spot!  The dried leaves are a pretty blend of organically grown lavender, orange peel, lemongrass, lemon myrtle and peppermint.

It is such a soft tea that it makes me want to run it through my fingers.  I ordered 1 oz and it is such a light blend, it came in 2 foil bags!  The tea smells amazing.  The lavender is the main scent, but you can smell the citrus and the peppermint at the end.

I used 1 tsp of tea to 8 oz of water and steeped for 6 minutes at 212°F.  I added just a touch of Agave Syrup to sweeten it just a bit.  The color of the tea is a soft yellow.

Tea Embassy describes this tea as:

Soothing, calming and delicious! This naturally caffeine free blend of organically grown herbs has a heavenly melange of lavender, peppermint, lemongrass, orange peel and lemon myrtle.

The flavor is definitely a floral/lavender base with citrus undertones and a peppermint finish.  I find the blend of flavors very unique.  I love this tea alone, but it is speaking to me that next time I may just add a touch of jasmine tea to it.

This is a great bedtime tea, although with the citrus it would also make a great iced tea for a hot summer day.

Relaxation Blend from Teavana

Relaxation Blend from TeavanaThis blend of tea is a unique mix of jasmine, lavender and peach (Jasmine Dragon Phoenix Pearls green tea, Lavender Dreams white tea and Peach Tranquility herbal).  I like each of these teas individually, but together they are such a pleasure!

I don’t find that one tea overpowers any of the others, they are all an equal player.  The blend itself is a little expensive since you must buy a minimum of 6 oz (2 oz of each tea).  I have all 3 on hand at all times so when I’m ready for a cup of this blend, I just mix them myself.

I steeped the tea using 1 tsp per 8 oz of water.  I steeped the tea for 2.5 minutes at 175°F.  I added 1 tsp of German Rock Sugar for each 8 oz of water.  I filled my tumbler and had the first half hot and put the rest in the fridge which I am now drinking iced.  It tastes great both ways.

Teavana describes this tea as:

This peaceful combination contains soothing herbs and three relaxing teas. It is a blend of Lavender Dreams white tea, Jasmine Dragon Phoenix Pearls green tea and Peach Tranquility herbal tea. The combination of chamomile, jasmine and fruity deliciousness will permeate your mind and body to help you relax. A perfect tea for the end of a long day. Includes 6oz of tea.

The color of the tea is a soft yellow.  It looks like the flavor may be on the weak side, but that is a wrong!  It is very flavorful.  The initial flavor is a soft white, with a jasmine/lavender finish.  The peach is very subtle within the flavor.  The dry tea is so pretty.  The pearls are delicate and there are large pieces of flowers and candied violets.  I generally do not re-steep my teas, but I find the 2nd steep is just as good since the brewing time is so short that the pearls do not completely unfurl the first time.

This tea is NOT caffeine free, so regardless of the name “Relaxation Blend”, if you are sensitive to the effects of caffeine, I do not recommend this tea at bedtime.

Mother’s Bouquet Herbal from Tea Embassy

Mother's Bouquet Herbal from Tea EmbassyI found the site www.teaembassy.com after purchasing a Groupon in my area for an online order.  I purchased a bunch of new flavors that I can’t wait to try.  The first one I tried is this one – Mother’s Bouquet Herbal.

From the second I opened the package, I knew I would LOVE this tea and I was right!  The tea is so beautiful that I want to store it in a glass tin (if that was possible)!  The ingredients are chamomile, rosebuds, cornflowers and orange peel.  My package was overflowing with beautiful rosebuds, I had to immediately run and show it to my mom!  It was so pretty that I almost didn’t want to brew it.

This is how Tea Embassy describes this tea:

For a mother or someone wanting a calming herbal tea to enjoy before bed. This blend is beautiful like potpourri, with chamomile, rosebuds, cornflowers, and orange peel. Naturally caffeine free with a floral citrus taste.

I caved in and used 1 tsp of tea to 8 oz of water.  I steeped at 212°F for 5 minutes.  I added 1 tsp of German Rock Sugar for each 8 oz of water.  The color of the tea is a light caramel brown. The flavor is a lovely floral with a chamomile base.  The finish is definitely rose with a twist of citrus.  It is one of those unique teas that really changes the flavor throughout the sip.

It’s almost bedtime and my mother and I are really enjoying this tea.  It is a great night-time tea with no caffeine and the lovely chamomile flavor.

Joie de Vivre Herbal from Teavana

Joie de Vivre Herbal from TeavanaThis is one of my favorites.  I often walk to my tea cabinet just to smell this blend.  The second my tin is open, my mouth waters!  The tea smells so sweet, that it’s like a snack.  The tea consists of large pieces of fruit that remind me of a fresh fruit trail mix.

The smell of the tea is similar to fruit salad.  You can really smell the sweetness of the peach and apple.  The ingredients are: peach pieces (with separating agent rice flour), grapes, apple pieces, fig slices, candied peach pieces (peach, sugar), flavoring (peach, grape, vanilla, pepper), plum pieces (with separating agent rice flour), apple slices, pepper, vanilla pieces, orange pieces.  The tea is so fresh that the pieces are still moist!

I steeped this tea in my little cup infuser with boiling water for 6 minutes.  I used 2 tsp of tea to 10 oz of water and added 1 tsp of German Rock Sugar.  The color of the liquid is a beautiful golden-yellow.  Some of the flavors sink to the bottom so it’s important to swirl before you sip – like a fine wine!  Although overall, I would describe this tea is fairly mild, it packs a LOT of fruit flavor.

Teavana describes this tea as:

A toast to ‘the good life,’ joy and celebration abound with each sip of this ‘champagne’ of herbal teas. Sip the delicate pale yellow liquor with golden highlights of sweet white peaches, candied lemon, regal figs and a creamy Madagascar vanilla ending. A seamless blend of happiness in a cup. Sweet peach and grape with lingering citrus & a hint of white pepper and vanilla.

The taste is just heaven to me.  I can definitely taste the peach and there is a little kick at the end which must be the vanilla and citrus.  It’s hard to pinpoint the most prominent flavor since there are so many mellow fruits in this blend.

This is such a sweet blend of perfection great for bedtime!

Mango Green from Adagio Teas

Mango Green from Adagio TeasAnother tasty green tea from Adagio.  I ordered this as a sample and just finished the bag today.  I prefer flavored teas and mango is one of my favorite flavors so this tea really hit the spot.

Needless to say, it is on my “reorder” list.  The dried leaves are a deep green with pieces of mango and sunflower petals sprinkled throughout.  The tea smells sweet, almost like a fruity cereal.

I steeped the tea with 1 tsp of tea to 8 oz of water.  I added ½ tsp of German Rock Sugar to 8 oz of water at 180°F for 4 minutes.  Most people probably would like it without sweetener since the tea is sweet by itself.  The color of the tea is a light green.  The flavor of the tea is a soft, delicate blend.  The green tea is an undertone to the fruity mango flavor.  I enjoy this blend of tea since it doesn’t have that “grassy” flavor often found in green teas.

Adagio describes this tea as:

An ancient Hindu legend recounts the story of the mango tree growing from the ashes of the sun princess, who had been incinerated by an evil sorceress. When the mango ripened and fell to the ground, the beautiful princess emerged again. Our Mango Green combines the vegetal goodness of green tea with the flavor of perfectly ripened mangoes. Juicy texture, creamy-dry finish with great floral aromatics and candy sweetness. Sun princess sold separately.

The initial flavor in the tea reminds me slightly of a black tea. I am not sure if it just my tongue playing tricks on me, because I enjoy mango iced tea. The finish remains so light and ends with a nice fruity flavor. There is no tea aftertaste, it is such a delicate green. It is 100°F here in Tampa, Florida and I am drinking this tea hot, but I would guess it is just as tasty over ice.
