Lemongreen from Tavalon Tea

LemonGreenLemongrass and Green Tea leaves, the ultimate combination for an ultimate green tea experience. The lemony aroma is deliciously enticing when you are preparing to make this tea. The greens both light and dark leaves are long and thin. Lemon and tea go together better than any other combination. I knew the taste this tea would provide would meet and perhaps even exceed my expectations.

Tavalon describes this tea as:

A refreshing, low-caffeine blend of mellow green tea from China and zesty Thai lemongrass. Contains the following functions, slimming, anti aging, enlightening, slimming.

A tea that does all four of those functions must be good! The light green tea was flavorful with slight lemon sweet zest. It was refreshing as a hot tea and I would imagine would be very tasty as a iced tea as well.

FYI: Cymbopogon (lemongrass) is a genus of about 55 species of grasses, native to warm temperate and tropical regions of the Old World and Oceania. It is a tall perennial grass. Common names include lemon grass, lemongrass, barbed wire grass, silky heads, citronella grass, fever grass or Hierba Luisa amongst many others.

Lemon grass is native to India. It is widely used as a herb in Asian cuisine. It has a citrus flavor and can be dried and powdered, or used fresh.

Lemon grass is commonly used in teas, soups, and curries. It is also suitable for poultry, fish, and seafood. It is often used as a tea in African and Latino-American countries.
