Tibetan Eye of the Tiger from Rua Tea

Tibetan Eye of the Tiger Black Tea

Mmmmm….if you love Black Tea, this is a beautiful specimen of bold black perfection.   Even though they don’t specify what type of black tea they use (this reviewer guesses either Yunnan or Assam…possibly Darjeeling…am I close?) it is obviously a very high quality black tea which has a bold, malty flavor which is balanced by the sweetness in the red Rooibos.  I’m not a fan of red rooibos, however in this blend it is used sparingly and is very subtle.

One can also definitely taste the smooth chocolate and caramel.  This is a tea best served with sweetener and without milk.  Be careful of overbrewing these bold teas as that creates a bitter aftertaste.  Brewing for 2-3 minutes seems ideal.

Rua Tea describes this tea as:

A unique blend of premium black tea, rooibos, chocolate and tiny granules of caramel and almond slices. The deep red infusions are malty with a touch of sweetness. Tibetan Eye of the Tiger is the perfect tea for a rainy day.

All of our teas come beautifully packaged in our artisan designed tea tin with clear lid. Designed to keep tea fresh and dry. Each tea tin yields approx. 10-12 cups of tea, depending on the tea. And can be used for multiple infusions.

Recommendations: Use 1 heaping tsp. per 6 oz. cup; heat fresh water to a roaring boil; let steep for 2-4 min.

This is a very sweet, earthy black tea brew.  As with all of Rua Tea’s products, the quality is without equal and the external appearance of the tea is so gorgeous that you are happy it comes with a clear lid! I really enjoy Tibetan Eye of the Tiger tea, and the name, which of course makes me immediately think of the Rocky movies.  I figured I would share this awesome clip of Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger” along with Rocky III footage! Play that clip while drinking a cup of Eye of the Tiger tea and you will feel ready to take on the world!
